According to the [DSSC Blueprint](https://blueprint.dssc.eu/?pane=technical#TechnicalBuildingBlocks-2.Overviewofpillars), Data Interoperability outlines capabilities needed for data exchange, semantic models, data formats, and interfaces (APIs). This also includes functionalities for provenance and traceability.

* Data Models: capabilities to define and use shared semantics in a data space.
* Data Exchange: capabilities relating to the actual exchange and sharing of data.
* Provenance, Traceability & Observability: capabilities for tracking the data sharing process so it becomes traceable and can be checked for compliance purposes.
